IPTC: Object Name Rhinopias eschmeyeri IPTC: Caption Cette espèce se rencontre dans la zone tropicale centrale de l'Indo-Pacifique ainsi que dans la partie occidentale de l'Océan Indien,Ile Maurice comprise. Il fréquente de préférence les pentes de récifales coralliennes ou caillouteuses avec une grande densité d'algues et ce entre 5 m et 30 m de profondeur. Le poisson-scorpion d'Eschmeyer est benthique, nocturne, et chasse à l'affût en attendant le passage de ses proies potentielles. Le Rhinopias eschmeyeri se nourrit de petits poissons, de crevettes et autres petits crustacés passant à sa portée.

Eschmeyer scorpion fish

This species occurs in the central tropical zone of the Indo-Pacific and in the western part of the Indian Ocean, including Mauritius. It preferably frequents the slopes of coral reefs or stony with a high density of algae and this between 5 m and 30 m of depth. The scorpion fish of Eschmeyer is benthic, nocturnal, and hunts to wait for the passage of its potential prey. Rhinopias eschmeyeri feeds on small fish, shrimps and other small crustaceans passing within its reach.
